Two years ago we were commissioned by Video Arts to take their old,
unmanageable HTML based site and redesign it using the latest appropriate
technologies - to make it more appealing for the user, updateable
by themselves and to provide them with a web hosting solution that
is reliable for a site that has many visitors worldwide.
solution
A dynamic, database driven web site, which was redesigned in line
with their new paper based catalogue. ASP (Active Server Pages)
was used to interrogate an Access Database containing information
on 450 or so products, enabling customers to quickly browse and
search the many categories to find exactly what they are looking
for effortlessly.
We supported the redevelopment with a back-end, password protected
'Administration Section' giving the client full control over the
content of the site - allowing them to easily add, edit or delete
content as product information or news items changed. Being online
this allows Video Arts to change data on a daily basis if required.
